At The Cragged, we want to break down the echo chambers that people increasingly find themselves in.
The Cragged presents all sides of a debate in good faith, so you can make your own mind up on the biggest, most divisive issues of our time.
We provide the full context on the debate, to give you a complete picture of complex issues. To borrow a well known phrase by John Stuart Mill:
He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that.
We think everyone’s able to make up his own mind about which side of a debate is right with the right information.

What we believe
- Difficult ideas deserve open debate.
- Right and wrong are rarely black and white.
- Changing an opinion is not a sign of weakness.
- The world would be better if we could engage in healthy disagreement.
Why ‘The Cragged’?
Our name comes from lines in a poem by the English poet John Donne:
On a huge hill,
Cragged and steep, Truth stands, and he that will
Reach her, about must and about must go,
And what the hill’s suddenness resists, win so.
The truth has never been easy to find, but it’s worth the pursuit.
